About Sophia
Sophia Strang is a Mezzo-soprano from Surrey BC, Canada. She recently graduated from the Manhattan School of Music in June of 2023. This year Sophia sang the role of Fortuna in L'incoronazione di Poppea at The Manhattan School of Music. As well as played Ursule in Béatrice et Bénédict and Meg in Falstaff at The Manhattan School of Music undergraduate opera scenes. In the summer of 2022 Sophia attended Classical Lyric Arts: Italy and Berkshires programs where she performed and studied scenes from I Capuleti e i Montecchi, La Clemenza di Tito and Le Nozze di Figaro. Sophia was part of Seattle operas teen vocal studio in which she performed the role of Penelope in Odyssey by Ben Moore and Kelley Rourke. She was a member of the chorus in Vancouver Opera’s productions of Turandot and Hansel and Gretel as well as a Classical Voice Provincial Champion in British Columbia.
